Thank you for applying to the Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) degree program at Georgia Tech for the Fall 2023 semester. We are very sorry to hear that you were not admitted to the MSCS program at Georgia Tech-Atlanta's campus. However, you may be considered for admission to one of Georgia Tech’s international campuses – Georgia Tech Shenzhen (shenzhen.gatech.edu), located in Shenzhen, China.
Kindly note that the decision regarding the Atlanta campus is final, but we invite you to explore the possibility of beginning your Georgia Tech studies at the Shenzhen campus.
Study at Georgia Tech-Shenzhen
The MSCS program at Georgia Tech-Shenzhen is identical to the MSCS program in Atlanta, with the same degree requirements. Four MSCS specializations (shenzhen.gatech.edu) are offered at GT-Shenzhen, namely Computational Perception and Robotics, Computing Systems, Interactive Intelligence, and Machine Learning. All courses are taught in English, by Georgia Tech faculty or adjunct faculty, following the Georgia Tech course catalog. In the end, you receive the same Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
The tuition rate at GT-Shenzhen is significantly lower than the out-of-state tuition rate at GT-Atlanta. Housing cost is also lower at the Shenzhen campus, making it more affordable than GT-Atlanta, where non-Georgia residents pay out–of–state tuition. Non-Georgia residents studying at the Shenzhen campus find that costs are approximately half the cost of studying on the Atlanta campus. Matriculation at Georgia-Tech Shenzhen
Please note that you do not need to re-apply in order to be considered for matriculation at GT-Shenzhen; all you need to do is email GT-Shenzhen campus representative at 1point3acres.com by the following deadline, with a request to review your application for admission with the following required information. If the Shenzhen campus offers you admission to Georgia Tech and you accept the offer, your admission is not final until confirmed by Georgia Tech’s Office of Graduate Studies. Once they have reviewed your application and noted any final documents needed, they will send you notification.
Deadline to apply for being considered for GT-Shenzhen is Monday, May 8, 2023, 11:59 pm U.S. eastern time. The review is on a rolling basis and we encourage you to apply as early as possible.
In your email subject, please write “GT-Shenzhen MSCS Fall 2023 Application Review Request: First Name Last Name, Application ID: ###-###-###” (For example: GT-Shenzhen MSCS Fall 2023 Application Review Request: George Burdell, Application ID: 123-456-789).
In the email, please make sure to include your full name, your 9-digit application ID#, and 9-digit GTID# (if any), in addition to other information you wish to include.
