Dr. Bing Yao with the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at the University
of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK) is looking for Ph.D. students starting from Fall 2023. The
prospective students will receive full doctoral-level financial support with a tuition waiver.
Dr. Bing Yao is an Assistant Professor at UTK. She received her dual-title PhD degree in
Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the Pennsylvania State University. She
received her master’s degree in physics from Penn State and Bachelor’s degree in physics from
the University of Science and Technology of China. Her research focuses on the development
of innovative data-driven models for smart health and advanced manufacturing. Specifically, her
