There is a Ph.D. opening in the direction of industrial and systems engineering starting from Spring / Fall 2022. The research area is machine learning and high-dimensional statistics methods engineering systems improvements towards intelligent systems. Full financial support will be provided.
Students from multiple areas are encouraged to apply, including but not limited to the following:

1. Students majoring in statistics, computational mathematics, data mining, and industrial engineering/operations research;
2. Students with mechanical engineering and automation backgrounds, with strong motivation for data-related research. Those with experience in additive manufacturing are especially desired;

Applicants must meet the English proficiency requirement - TOEFL > 80 or IELTS > 6.5.

About the advisor

Dr. Andi Wang web.asu.edu joined the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks at Arizona State University as an assistant professor in Fall 2021, and he is also a member of the graduate faculty of Industrial Engineering program. Dr. Andi Wang got his BS in Statistics from Peking University, MS in Computer Science and Engineering from Georgia Tech, and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (minor in Machine Learning) from Georgia Tech. Dr. Wang has rich experience developing data science and machine learning algorithms for sensing data from complex systems. Dr. Wang's papers have won 4 best paper awards or finalists in different journals and conferences.
