Applications are invited for a fully-funded Ph.D. research assistant position in Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York State, USA. The admitted candidate is to assist in an NSF-funded research project on project-based learning in software engineering. This position will start from 2022 Spring semester.

Requirements
Earned MS degree in any computing-related field, but exception can be made for otherwise strong candidates;
Commitment to pursuing the Ph.D. degree;
Strong technical background, e.g., web & mobile stacks, databases, UI, networking, and mainstream platforms (Linux, Windows);
Fast learner;
Good skills in oral and written expressions;
Team player;
Willing to learn interdisciplinary subject matter;
Self-motivated, positive, and hard-working attitude.
Tests:
TOEFL (minimum 550; CBT score of 213; IBT score of 80) or IELTS (minimum score of 6.5) as required by Clarkson University
GRE (Exception can be made for strong candidates)
Some of the following Additional Qualifications (desired but not required)
Experience or interest in software engineering education
Experience in industry or open-source software development
Experience in software deployment techniques, e.g., docker

Assist professors in teaching research-related software courses
Supervise undergraduate student research
