Do you agree or disagree the following statement? It is more important to work quickly and risk making mistakes than to work slowly and make sure everything is correct.

As an old saying goes: Time is gold. The significance of time is being increasingly highlighted nowadays. Every morning sees men and women walking swiftly along the road to work. Nobody wants to waste a second more. Somebody argues that humans incline to make mistakes when they speed up doing something and the best way to avoid it is to slow down and focus. From my perspective, speed and quality are never contradictory and we can achieve them both with proper methodology.
Efficiency decides how far you can go in your work, study or life. In other words, you will gain more experience and knowledge than others do if you can solve more tasks in a shorter time. This will make you more competitive in your future career. Take my friend Bruce for example. Bruce is an expert of playing various instruments. And he composed and performed a euphonious song all on his own within a day. After he uploaded the video of the song to YouTube, he became rapidly popular and received tens of thousands of Likes and Subscribes in a week. Later he is the only students who passed the interview of our university’s biggest band, which rejected dozens of other candidates. If not his high efficiency and expertise, he may had never achieved such an outstanding result.

People are over-sensitive in seeing the word “Mistake”. They only see the part that they may lose but never give a glimpse to what they will harness. It is more than unwise that paying excess attention to risks when making decisions. As a matter of fact, every decision one makes is exposed to risks and we should not give up on something or slow down doing something just because we are afraid of the making mistakes. On the contrary, it is a better choice to improve our capabilities to reduce and minimize the risk, which is viable through repeatedly training. Afterall, we are humans, not programmed machines, and we make mistakes. It is impossible to eliminate man-made mistakes but we can do our best to minimize the possibilities of their occurrences.

Admittedly, it is totally understandable that people tend to make everything right and completing your tasks with a slow pace do help. However, like I mentioned above, mistakes will not be eliminated while doing your work. Tu Youyou has spent her thirty years studying the botanical cure to malaria and this is undoubtedly a long period of time. She failed thousands of times, but she kept on proceeding the research. She learned from each mistake and made improvement. Step by step, she was finally awarded the Nobel Prize. Mistake itself is not what we should avoid of, cowardness is.

In a nutshell, it is unadvisable that we are too afraid of making mistakes to do everything slowly. By training ourselves, we can keep ourselves from making mistakes as much as we can. By learning from mistakes, we can ensure that the final success is one step closer to you.(500 words)
