[align="left"]The Duke Acoustofluidics Group is invitingthe most motivated, talented postdoc and Ph.D. candidates to join us. We conduct research at theinterface of physics, engineering, micro/nano technology, chemistry, andbiomedicine. We are a highly dynamic group. The graduate students fromour group have been recognized with more than 80 awards for their researchachievements, including National Science Foundation(NSF) Graduate Fellowships, Fulbright Scholarships, NASA Space Technology Research Fellowships,Baxter Young Investigator Awards, Materials Research Society (MRS) GraduateStudent Award, Founder’s prize from the AmericanAcademy of Mechanics, a Boris P. Stoicheff Memorial Scholarship from Optical Society of America, aSPIE fellowship in Optics and Photonics, andbest paper awards at the IEEE Ultrasonics Symposiums and MicroTAS Conferences. About 20% of ourPh.D. students and postdocs have received facultypositions at research universities in the US such as University of Texas, Austin, University of Colorado atBoulder, Indiana University, and West Virginia University. The group members whowent back to China received 1000Youth program (青年千人计划) from Chinese government and became facultymembers at Zhejiang University and PekingUniversity. Those who prefer industry have taken excellent job offers from companies such asIntel, GE Global Research, P&G, BD, and DowChemicals. Many of our Ph.D. students have such an excellent publication recordthat they had got their green cards (i.e., US Permanent Residency) issued BEFORE they completed theirPh.D. degrees in our group.

We are recruiting exceptional Ph.D. candidates with:

Background: We recruit candidates with strong background in physics or engineering to develop newtechnologies; we also recruit candidates with strong background in chemistry orbiology to develop new applications forthese technologies.

We are considering CSC candidates who will get Ph.D. degrees in Duke; we arealso considering CSC students who will get Ph.D. degrees in China but willvisit Duke for 24 months.[/align]
