Ph.D. positions in Computer Science at UMass Boston (Fall 2017 or Spring 2018)

PhD positions in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, starting from 2017 fall semester or 2018 spring semester, are available at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston), under the supervision of Prof. Honggang Zhang (http://eng.umb.edu/~hzhang/)
Accepted students will receive full financial support in the form of Research Assistantship or Teaching Assistantship (including full tuition wavier, monthly stipends, and some other fees) from Prof. Zhang, and they will enroll in the PhD program of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science at UMass Boston.
Prof. Zhang’s research is in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing, mobile computing, embedded systems and cyber physical systems (CPS), and distributed systems in general. The PhD students are expected to work in the above areas.
Qualifications:
* Applicants usually have a BS or MS degree in any one of the following fields: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science or Engineering, Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Control & Automation, Computer Networking, or other related fields.
* Students from other science and engineering fields (such as Applied Math, Physics, etc) are also encouraged to apply, due to the interdisciplinary nature of Prof. Zhang's research.
It is expected that applicants should have a strong motivation, determination, and interest toward research.
