PhD Student Position in AI for Healthcare, and Computational Neuroscience at Rutgers University
One fully funded PhD student position is available in Dr. Feng Liu's group in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rutgers University. The expected start date is Fall 2026 or Spring 2027. (Dr. Liu will join Rutgers in Fall 2026)
The research will primarily focus on AI/ML/LLM and optimization for healthcare, brain imaging, and computational neuroscience. Topics include AI/LLM methods for healthcare, such as clinical decision support, biomedical data analysis, and interpretable AI for neurological and psychiatric applications, as well as brain network analysis, EEG/MEG inverse problems, dynamical systems, and neural signal modeling.
Students with backgrounds in automatic control, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, biomedical engineering, applied mathematics, or related fields are especially encouraged to apply.
