I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston). My research interests broadly lie in machine learning and AI, in particular foundation models, AI safety, AI agent, data-efficient machine learning, etc.
My research has been published at high-impact venues (e.g., ICLR, KDD, WWW, SIGIR, AAAI, IJCAI, ACL). I also regularly serve as PC and SPC/AC at NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, KDD, WWW, AAAI, IJCAI, etc. More information can be found at the website: scpei.github.io
I am looking for self-motivated Ph.D. students and remote interns to join my research group.
