Prof. Tan, Assistant Professor of Engineering Education Systems & Design in the Polytechnic School at Arizona State University, is recruiting multiple fully funded Ph.D. positions in the same program. Introduction of the EESD program:

The Engineering Education Systems and Design (EESD) PhD program aims to increase the understanding and design of engineering education systems. The program prepares students to critically analyze and conduct research in alignment with their engineering education scholarly interests. Graduates of the EESD program are exemplary engineering education scholars equipped to take competitive positions in a variety of settings, including universities, science centers, government agencies, museums, policy setting institutions and industry.

Introduction of Prof. Tan's research:

Prof. Tan's research approaches heavily involve 1) quantitative methods with longitudinal datasets; 2) using AI to support teaching and learning; and 3) investigating the relationship between AI adoption and student access.

Qualifications:

Strong quantitative backgrounds, data analytic skills, and writing skills are preferred but not required. Experience with R/Python would be preferred. Willingness to join the field of engineering education research is needed.
