Dr. Sanchuan Chen is an Assistant Professor at Auburn University, where he leads the Secure and Confidential Computing (SCC) lab. His research spans both software and hardware security, with a recent emphasis on integrating machine learning and statistical techniques into computer security.

In software security, Dr. Chen's current focus areas include:

Leveraging machine learning in open-source software (OSS) research.
Applying machine learning to program analysis and testing.
Identifying vulnerabilities in deep learning compilers and libraries using machine learning.
Developing novel attacks and defenses for deep learning compilers and libraries.
White-box program analysis and protection of deep learning models.
Employing deep learning in binary analysis and developing hardening techniques.

In hardware security, Dr. Chen’s recent work centers on securely verifying program execution states within Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs).

Our Secure and Confidential Computing (SCC) lab at Auburn University is actively recruiting Ph.D. students with full financial support (1-2 positions available). Ideal candidates should have a strong background in mathematics and computer science.
