PhD student Openings in Professor Yanliang Zhang’s Lab at University of Notre Dame
Professor Yanliang Zhang’s lab at the University of Notre Dame (A top 20 University in US) has PhD student openings. The mission of our lab is to develop advanced materials and additive manufacturing methods in order to address major societal challenges in sustainable energy and precision health. We are working on cutting-edge research topics on multi-materials additive manufacturing, bioprinting of tissues/organs, wearable/implantable bioelectronics, soft robotics, and sustainable energy materials and systems. Our lab's groundbreaking research has been published in top journals including Nature, Advanced Materials, Energy & Environmental Science, Chemical Society Reviews, etc. Our research is multidisciplinary in nature, and we welcome students of all engineering and science majors to apply. The students have the opportunity to receive a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, and also a PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering if they participate in the MSE PhD program. Interested applicants should send resume to Prof. Zhang by email: 1point3acres.com. In addition, the PhD applicants need to complete online application before the deadline Dec. 31. The GRE score is not required for the application.
Yanliang Zhang is a Full Professor and the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Collegiate Chair. He is a recipient of the prestigious National Science Foundation Career Award, and Young Investigator Award from International Thermoelectric Society. The mission of Professor Zhang’s lab is to create revolutionary materials and manufacturing methods in order to improve energy and environmental sustainability and individual health and wellbeing by addressing grand challenges our society is facing. To do so, we have established a transformative nanoscale-to-macroscale engineering approach that synergistically integrates fundamental and applied research programs into a coherent effort.
More information about his research can be found from our lab website: zhanglab.nd.edu.
University of Notre Dame is a highly-ranked research university in US, offering high quality education and outstanding research environment. Notre Dame is located in the heart of the Midwest adjacent to several major cities (Chicago, Indianapolis, etc.), is surrounded by a dozen of other major research universities, national labs and high-tech companies.
