Dr. Qian (Vivian) Liu’s laboratory at McGill University is recruiting graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to work on paramyxovirus entry and assembly using super-resolution imaging.
Dr. Liu’s laboratory is interested in understanding how paramyxoviruses enter, assemble, and spread among host cells. We develop single-molecule imaging platforms and lattice SIM microscopes to image virus-host interactions within whole cells at unprecedent temporal (up to 255 frames per second) and spatial resolutions (10 nm lateral and 20 nm axial). By pushing the boundaries of super-resolution imaging, we tackle fundamental questions of virus entry and assembly, uncovering how virus-host complexes are organized and how their dynamics unfold in real time. Please visit our website for research themes: liuqlab.ca.
We are recruiting highly motivated trainees to join our team:
Graduate students: successful applicants will enroll in McGill’s graduate program starting Fall 2026. We provide a full scholarship that covers tuition, fee, and living stipends.
Postdoctoral fellows (positions available immediately): 1) A Ph.D. degree in microbiology, biochemistry, cell biology, and immunology is preferred; 2) must hold a Ph.D. degree in August 2024 or later.
Please send your cover letter and CV to Dr. Liu at 1point3acres.com.
