爱荷华大学工业与系统工程系副教授王超招收数据挖掘,统计建模方向博士生,提供全奖.
There is one PhD opening for 2026 Spring/Fall in Dr. Wang's research group to work on statistical modeling, monitoring, prognostics and control of complex systems. The group focuses on developing and applying data analytics tools to various promising areas including advanced manufacturing systems, driver simulation and monitoring systems, healthcare spatio-temporal and imaging systems, water and hydrology modeling systems. The research in the group requires algorithm development, hardware design, theoretic analysis, simulation and emulation.
Prospective candidates are expected to be highly self-motivated with background in mechanical engineering, statistics, computer science, industrial engineering, automation, or other related majors. Students with inter-disciplinary background are especially encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will receive full financial support including tuition, stipend and other benefits. Outstanding students will be recommended to receive the College of Engineering Fellowship to have extra financial support. Interested candidates please send your CV and transcript to 1point3acres.com.
Dr. Wang's Biography:
Chao Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Iowa. He received his B.S. from the Hefei University of Technology in 2012, and M.S. from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2015, both in Mechanical Engineering, and his M.S. in Statistics and Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018 and 2019, respectively. His research interests include statistical modeling, analysis, monitoring and control for complex systems. Dr. Wang is a recipient of the Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award from SME, two Best Paper Awards from IISE Transactions, and several Best Paper Awards/Finalist recognitions at INFORMS Annual Conferences through his work with students.
