- Strong Background in numerical modeling of wave propagation (FDM, FEM, or SEM),
- Programming Skills (at least one required): Python, C++, MATLAB
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong Background in (1) seismology and geomechanics fundamentals, (2) applied mathematics for computational modeling, and (3) signal processing techniques for seismic data.
- Experience in Machine Learning (data-driven and/or scientific)
- Publication & Communication Skills: Experience in writing scientific papers and conference presentations, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
导师简介：Dr. Kami Mohammadi
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, a position I have held since July 2021. Additionally, I serve as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology & Geophysics, a role I began in July 2023. My academic journey includes a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Tehran. I further pursued my studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where I earned a second Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering with a minor in Applied Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering.
Following my doctoral studies, I embarked on a postdoctoral fellowship at the California Institute of Technology, where I conducted research in Mechanical and Civil Engineering from January 2016 to June 2021. My research and teaching interests are deeply rooted in geotechnical earthquake engineering, with a particular emphasis on applying advanced mathematical methods to solve complex engineering problems.
