Fairbanks School of Public Health and Indiana University School of Medicine, the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science possesses an uncommon ability to connect the widest possible range of people, disciplines, and ideas that reflect the modern U.S. health care environment and delivery models, readying students to practice medicine in a team-based, interdisciplinary setting. Supporting the largest medical school in the United States, the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science hosts a new breed of scientists, drawing on every discipline, pursuing groundbreaking talent, and novel technology, whatever its origin.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indiana University, invites applications for a part-time research assistant position. Selected candidate will apply and develop scalable statistical and computational approaches for high-dimensional biomedical data with emphases on network science, high dimensional data analysis, neuroimaging, gene expression, data integration and statistical machine learning. The selected candidates will work under the mentorship of Dr. Selena Wang to perform the integrative cutting-edge research with multi-scale molecular and neural networks with real-world applications in Alzheimer’s Disease, psychiatry, mental health, etc. Selected candidates will be given opportunities to support current collaborations within IU systems and with other institutions. We seek candidates with strong quantitative and computational skills. Familiarities with Bayesian frameworks are preferred. While a background in neuroimaging, genetics, or transcriptomics is beneficial, it is not required.
Position Qualifications
The quantified candidates should have or about to have a bachelor degree in biostatistics, bioengineering, data science, mathematical psychology, quantitative psychology or a related quantitative area, and be able to start this position in 2025 and be available for at least one year.
