Fully Funded Ph.D. Student Positions in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at RPI Fall 2025
Applications are invited for Ph.D. program in Decision Science and Engineering Systems in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). We seek students with a strong background in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related fields. Ph.D. students will be provided with tuition and a stipend to support their research and education.

A Bachelor’s degree (required by the start date) in Engineering (IE, EE, ME, Material Science, ChemE, etc.), Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or other related fields.

About the Department: The ISE Department (ise.rpi.edu) offers degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. ISE has a rich history of addressing important societal challenges since 1933. Research focuses on core areas of industrial and systems engineering with strengths in optimization, data science, manufacturing systems, supply chain and logistics, and decision support. The ISE curricula draw directly on cutting-edge research results and pedagogical innovations, and benefit from ongoing collaborations with other Rensselaer departments, most recently in the department’s new institute-wide minor in Data Science and Engineering.

Qualifications:
