Advisor's bio: Dr. Yuntao Liu is an Assistant Professor in the ECE Department of Lehigh University. He received his Bachelor's in EE from Zhejiang University, China, in 2014 and PhD in ECE from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2020. His research interests include hardware security, artificial intelligence (AI), and electronic design automation (EDA). He has published extensively in refereed journals and conferences on various topics in these fields, such as hardware intellectual property protection, hardware-based attacks on AI, hardware Trojans, and side-channel attacks. His research contributions have been recognized by a Best Paper Award at CCSW 2020 and a Best Paper Nomination at DAC 2021.

Regarding the PhD position:
There is one position available for 25 Spring and one or two for 25 Fall.
You will be fully funded. RA will be the major type of funding. You may be supported with TA or fellowship for some semesters.
The annual stipend will be approximately $34k, higher than the US average.
The University provide graduate students with health insurance, which can be paid through payroll deduction. 80 percent of the cost will be subsidized.

Cost of living is very reasonable around campus. The area is also close to NYC (2h), Newark (1.5h) and Philadelphia (1h), which provides great work life balance.
