今年经济不景气，分享一下DIY 的H1b grace period 60天快满的时候转B签的timeline:
2024.8.9 last day of work
2024.8.10 H1b 60 days grace period started
2024.9.26 Submitted I-539 online （H1B1 category）
2024. 10.3 Receipt received （可以合法呆在美国）
2024. 11.19 Approval received
B签给到03.06.2025了。很多地方都说不能efile，但是我是在网上提交了，主要是可以省50刀。
提交的材料：
Dear USCIS Officer,
I am writing to request a change of status from my H-1B work visa to a B-2 visitor visa.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide additional information regarding my request for a change of status from H1B to B2 visa. Please find my responses below:
1. Reasons for my request: I was laid off unexpectedly and have not been able to secure new employment during the H1B grace period. I am currently undergoing interviews with several companies and need additional time to secure a job offer. The B2 visa will allow me to stay in the U.S. legally while I continue my job search and complete the interview process.
2. Reasons why my extended stay would be temporary, including what arrangements I have made to depart from the U.S.: I intend to remain in the U.S. temporarily until I secure a new job. If I am unable to find employment during my extended stay on a B2 visa, I will make arrangements to depart from the U.S. and return to my home country, China.
3. Effect an extended stay may have on my foreign employment or residency: I currently have residency in China and without foreign employment. An extended stay in the U.S. would not negatively impact any foreign employment or residency arrangements.
4. How I plan to financially support myself while I am in the U.S.: I have sufficient personal savings in my bank and a severance package that was sent in September to support myself during this extended stay. These funds will cover my living expenses, health insurance, and any other costs I may incur during this period.

- Statement (具体见下，可以根据个人情况更改细节，大概讲为什么申请，为什么要延长，找不到工作就回去，但是东西比较多需要一些时间安排blabla)
- I-94
- Potential interview opportunity (hr emails etc)
- I-797
- Passport
- B签结束单程回国机票
