The University of Iowa (UI) is pleased to announce the availability of graduate student positions in informatics, commencing in Fall of 2025. These positions come with research assistantships, and fellowships are also available to support outstanding candidates. Successful applicants will be enrolled in UI's Informatics Graduate Program. Research Focus
The primary research objective of these positions is to develop advanced computational algorithms and pipelines for the integration and analysis of large-scale biological data. The methodologies emerging from this research will serve to uncover latent patterns in extensive biological datasets, including but not limited to cancer omics and microbiome data. The ultimate aim is to identify correlations between human genetic variations and disease risks, thereby facilitating the creation of novel diagnostic tools.

Collaborative Opportunities and Coursework
Students will have the unique opportunity to collaborate on high-impact research projects with world-renowned scientists. The academic curriculum will emphasize bioinformatics, complemented by courses in mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
