Description: Dr. Wenqi Cui will be joining the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at New York University (NYU) as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in September 2025. Our research group has multiple fully funded Ph.D. and postdoc positions available starting in Fall 2025. The group's research lies in the intersection of control, machine/reinforcement learning, and optimization for sustainable power and energy systems, with applications extending to general cyber-physical systems. We aim to develop fundamental theories and algorithms to tackle challenges in decarbonizing energy systems, and provide safe and robust AI-based solutions for real-world applications.

Bio: Dr. Cui is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). She received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Washington, the master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University, and the bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Southeast University. She was also a research intern at Microsoft Research. Dr. Cui is the recipient of the Pioneer Postdoctoral Fellowship, PIMCO Postdoctoral Fellowship, Rushmer Innovator Fellowship, etc. She has also been named as one of the Rising Stars in EECS in 2022 and the Rising Stars in Cyber-Physical Systems in 2023.
