A brief bio of the MIST lab director:
Chen Wang is the O’Donnell Foundation professor and an associate professor of CS at SMU. He is one of the youngest professors to have received the endowed professorship recognition in the US. He is the 2024 NSF CAREER AWARD recipient. Dr. Wang’s research interests include security and privacy, sensing, mixed reality, smart health care, and robotics. He is a co-founder of the cybersecurity program at LSU and leads the Mobile and Internet SecuriTy (MIST) lab. His work has been published at multiple high-impact security and networking conferences, including IEEE S&P, ACM Mobicom, ACM CCS, ACM CHI, and IEEE Infocom. He is the recipient of SIX BEST PAPER awards, including Infocom WiSARN 2021, HealthyIoT 2019, CNS 2018, ASIACCS 2016, and CNS 2014. From 2014 to 2024, he and his students’ works have been reported by over 170 media outlets, including IEEE Spectrum, NSF Science 360, CBS TV, BBC News, NBC, IEEE Engineering 360, Fortune, ABC News, MIT Technology Review, etc.
