The Security and Privacy Analytics Lab (SePAL) at Drexel University is currently offering two fully-funded doctoral research positions in the field of Computer Security and Privacy. SePAL's research encompasses a broad spectrum of cybersecurity challenges, including program analysis, vulnerability detection, risk assessment, IoT/mobile security, risk assessment, cybercrime and threat intelligence. Beyond addressing technical concerns, the lab also explores human vulnerabilities in cybersecurity, striving to forge a more protected and secure society. About Dr. Sun
Dr. Zhibo "Eric" Sun is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Drexel’s College of Computing & Informatics. His research interests lie broadly in the area of computer security and privacy with an emphasis on human-centered analysis, aiming to identify human vulnerabilities and patch them to make people safer in cyberspace. Eric investigates real-world computer security problems and human vulnerabilities by using a mix of data-driven analytics, quantitative and qualitative analysis, machine learning, crime science, and system design. In particular, some of his research includes e-crime, threat intelligence, underground economies, Internet fraud, and web security.
About Dr. Zhang
Yue Zhang is an assistant professor at Drexel University’s Computer Science department. Before joining Drexel, Yue Zhang was working as a Postdoc in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University. His research primarily focuses on system security, specifically in the areas of IoT Security and mobile security. His works appeared in security conferences (e.g., USENIX Security, ACM CCS, and NDSS). His research had led to the discovery of many vendor-acknowledged vulnerabilities, such as by Bluetooth SIG, Apple, Google, and Texas Instruments, and had attracted intense media attention such as Hacker News, and Mirage News.
