导师介绍：Liang Zhao is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Emory University. Before that, he was an assistant professor in the Department of Information Science and Technology as well as the Department of Computer Science at George Mason University. He graduated as PhD from Virginia Tech in Fall 2016 as the only awardee of outstanding doctorate student at the Department of Computer Science. His research direction includes data mining, machine learning, and optimization, with special interest in complex multi-modal data (e.g., spatiotemporal, textual, imagery, graph data), interpretable and interactive AI, and high-performance machine learning. He published over 150 papers in prestigious conferences and journals such as KDD, NeurIPS, ICDM, WWW, AAAI, ICLR, IJCAI, TPAMI, and TKDE. He has won several best paper awards and runner-ups such as Best Paper Awards in ICDM 2019 and ICDM 2022, Best Paper Candidate in WWW 2021, Best Poster Runner-up in ACM SIGSPATIAL 2022, Best Paper Candidates in ICDM 2021 and ACM SIGSPATIAL 2022. His achievement has been recognized by federal government agencies and industry via competitive awards such as NSF CAREER Award, Amazon Research Award, Meta Research Award, Cisco Faculty Research Award, Jeffress Trust Award and so on. He is honored with a Computing Innovation Fellow Mentor and is an IEEE senior member.
