Prof. Qingxue Zhang is leading the Ubiquitous Embedded Intelligence Lab (UbiEi Lab), funded by several National Science Foundation (NSF) grants, including the most prestigious NSF CAREER Award, in the Computer Science department, Indiana University Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
Prof. Zhang worked in the industry, at Harvard University and at the current university for over 17 years. He is leading the research innovations in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematical Studies on AI, Deep Learning, Big Data System, Edge Computing, among many areas. The UbiEi lab has extensive collaborations with different domains, such as the US-largest medical school at Indiana University, as well as industries. [Position Description]: There are several fully funded Research Assistant (RA) positions, including $2600 salary per month, as well as the medical insurance and full tuition.
The PhD will research cutting-edge AI problems, with one or more of theoretic study, algorithm design, and implementation, based on both student background and the projects.
(3) Requirements:
- Master students in Computer Science or related areas will be great. Information and Electrical Engineering with good background, will also be considered.
- The English test will be required (any of the following three will be ok: minimum 80 for TOEFL, 6.5 for IELTS, or 115 for Duolingo).
- GPA 3.5 or higher.
- Start date: one as soon as possible for Fall 24; two for Spring 25.
