We have two funded Ph.D. positions in the Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) program within the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Cincinnati (UC) at Cincinnati. The ideal start date is Spring 2025. The Ph.D. students are expected to work with Dr. Yingyan Zeng with a focus on Data-centric Artificial Intelligence with real-world applications in manufacturing industrial internet and healthcare systems.

About the Program and the Department
The ISE program housed in the MME Department was reopened in 2023. The MME Department currently offers a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering (🔗 ceas.uc.edu). A Ph.D. degree in ISE is expected to be launched later in 2024.

- Prior research or project experience in statistical learning, machine learning, programming (particularly in Python), etc.
- Clear research objectives, strong motivations, and solid math foundations.
- Good English writing and communication skills. (TOEFL (minimum 96 IBT) or IELTS (minimum 7), GRE required of all international students)
