生统&统计选校求助！umich生统 emory生统 wustl统计

24fall选校求助！！！
目前在纠结三个项目
1.umich
cons： 排名好 据说转博友好
pros： 村 人多 据说很卷 花费大
2.emory:
cons：地理位置好 专排还可以
pros: qs排名一般是mph怕申phd不友好
3.wustl/washu：
cons：是统计 据说老师很愿意带着做科研
pros：地理位置危险（感觉关于这个项目的信息很少
不确定自己适不适合读博所以暂时意愿不强烈（但听说生统现在找工也不好找）如果找不到好的工作也考虑读博因为本科没有优势所以也考虑工作几年再申请博士听说统计出来的路子要比生统宽所以很纠结，可以卷但不喜欢卷 求助！谢谢！！！！！！！！

这三个学校都不错，在美国的声誉基本相当。楼主自己要想清楚今后的打算，不然很难做出正确的选择。以下几点可能对你有帮助。
1. 找工作的话，基本上要博士的学位才有比较好的机会。
2. 现在最热门的AI方向可能是统计比生统更有优势。
3. 我在WashU,可以给你提供一些情况。主校区在郊区的Clayton,是密苏里州数一数二的富人区，学生基本上都住在学校附近，可以步行上学，不用担心安全问题。这里的房租比另外两个学校要便宜很多，每年可以节省$6K左右。学校里边中国人还是相当多的。很多学生家境很好。不过本地的工作机会没有两个海岸多。很多人毕业去Chicago工作。

好滴谢谢谢谢！！因为还是想有一个好的就业机会所以不排斥读博，但看很多帖子说umich人多特别卷不是很能卷并且本科也不是特别好的学校所以肯定卷不过大佬，emory是mph担心未来因为是mph不是ms申不上博但emory感觉地理位置比其他两所要好，washu录的是统计并且听说教授很愿意带学生做科研所以很心水，但有点担心安全问题以及知名度和专排不如前两所。
MPH申博估计影响不大。不过我发现Emory的一个学生不推荐这个Program。

Being an Emory student I feel I should warn prospective students of a couple of things that I wish I knew.
Unless you have years of experience in related work you aren't going to work at the CDC. Even our career advisors tell us that it's unlikely to get a full time position straight out of graduation. You're best chance is to apply for one of their fellowships for a few years which will give you an opportunity to work for the CDC in the future. The most likely case for a lot of current students is that they work with CDC people but the students don't work for the CDC.
The biostatistics program at emory can be very abusive. Majority of the faculty is nice but every semester you're going to take one professor in a required course who will do everything in their power for you to suffer. I know smart people who had to quit their jobs and drop classes just to pass probability theory with a C. It's a very unforgiving program and it's not challenging in a positive way.

不是必须买车。大部分研究生和高年级本科生住在主校区北面的Delmar Loop社区，步行上课大概是15分钟。医学院大部分学生住在Central West End或者Forest Park Southeast(俗称the Grove），也是步行的距离。
