Pei Dong is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Our research interests lie in the areas of materials design, advanced manufacturing, and device fabrication to address the integrated challenges space around the water-energy nexus and biomedical area. We are also working on multiple interdisciplinary topics, i.e. self-adaptive biomimetic materials synthesis, in-situ fracture test of nanomaterials, and optical, mechanical, and electrochemical performance of energy, water treatment and biomedical devices. She is the recipient of the Franz and Frances Brotzen Fellowship Award, Best Thesis Award, Materials Today Energy Promising Early Career Award, and the NSF CARER Award.
