Dr. Yue Wen's lab at the University of Central Florida(UCF) is recruiting two Ph.D. students interested in the design and control of wearable rehabilitation robots (exoskeletons and prostheses), neural machine interfaces for wearable rehabilitation robots, or artificial intelligence with application in the above research fields.

In the meantime, we welcome visiting students and visiting scholars who are interested in relevant research fields and will host them through the university’s J-1 exchange visitor program.

About the PI:
Dr. Yue Wen is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Central Florida (UCF) and a member of Disability, Aging and Technology Cluster.
Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly RIC) and Northwestern University, Chicago.
He received a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University.
His research interests include wearable robots, neural-machine interface, AI/ML for wearable robotics, human-robot interaction, and gait rehabilitation, to improve the quality of life for clinical populations.

Basic Qualifications:
- 能够自我驱动,有毅力,并且能够在研究工作中奋发图强
- Self-motivation, perseverance, and diligence in research.
- 在生物医学工程、机械工程、电子电气与计算机工程等相关领域获得学士/硕士学位
- A B.S./M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or relevant fields.
- 至少能够熟练使用如下语言中的一种:Python, MATLAB, C/C++
- Proficiency in programming using Python, MATLAB, or C/C++
- 良好的英文写作及英语口语交流技能
- Good written and oral communication skills
- 托福总分达到80分及以上或雅思总分达到6.5分及以上
- TOFEL score of 80 or IELTS score of 6.5
加分项:
Preferred Qualifications:
- 在机器学习,算法开发或系统控制(例如:可穿戴机器人)领域中有编程经验者优先
- Programming experience in machine learning, algorithm development, or system control (e.g., wearable robot)

- Hand-on experience in embedded systems design, e.g., microcontroller, FPGA, circuit design, etc.
