Dr. Wei Zhang at the Computer Science Department of University of Central Florida is looking for PhD students (GRA or Fellowship) who are interested in studying Computational Biology and Machine Learning.
About Dr. Wei Zhang
Dr. Wei Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and serves as the Graduate Program Director of Computer Science at the University of Central Florida. He leads the Computational Biology Lab (cs.ucf.edu which focuses on the development of machine learning algorithms for various challenges in large-scale biomedical data analysis. The work has been published in top-tier journals such as Nature Communications, Nucleic Acids Research, Briefings in Bioinformatics, Bioinformatics, PLoS Computational Biology, etc. Over the past five years, Dr. Zhang's lab has received substantial support, including four NSF awards, two NIH awards, and a research contract with the Moffitt Cancer Center.
