Two GRA openings are available in the Laboratory of Transport Phenomena for Advanced Technologies at Virginia Tech. The desired starting time is Spring 2024. The positions are for Ph.D. students interested in nanoscale transport phenomena or molecular and interfacial phenomena. Projects supporting these positions include oil/gas transport in tight reservoirs, interfacial processes in thermal fluid sciences, and nanotribology.

Prior experiences in computational work (CFD or molecular dynamics) and programming skills are valued. While students are expected to enroll in the Mechanical Engineering department or the Engineering Mechanics program, those with other backgrounds such as physics and chemical engineering are also welcome. Interested students are encouraged to send an inquiry to Professor Qiao ([email protected]).
